27th Annual Pride Run in Central Park!

Frnypriderun2007 The Front Runners, New York City's premier running club for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and straight allies, team up with the New York Road Runners to host the annual Pride Run, a five-mile race through Central Park, Saturday, June 28th. Drawing some of the best runners in the New York area, prizes are awarded to the top finishing male and female racers.

"What began as a small gathering in the early eighties with a few hundred runners has grown into a true world class event for both the athletes and thousands of spectators." said Front Runners President Michael Benjamin. "And we are thrilled to have New York City Council Speaker Christine C. Quinn join us for opening remarks and to blow the starting horn."

Attendance records will fall as over 3000 competitors are expected to compete for over $5000 in cash and prizes at this year's event.  And to kick things off, organizers secured the cast of Broadway's hit show Mamma Mia to sing the national anthem before to the start of the race.

So if you're in the Manhattan this weekend, stop by and cheer on the competitors.
