Carlos Sastre wins the Tour de France

In one of the closest finishes in Tour de France history, Carlos Sastre (in yellow) becomes the third Spaniard in a row to win the premier cycling event. Although the 21st and final stage, an 89-mile ride through the streets of Pairs, was won by Gert Steegmans of Belgium, Sastre's 65 second lead after the 20th stage was enough to almost guarantee him victory, barring any disastrous event.
