Women's wrestling: Randi Miller shoots and wins for U.S.

I told you I would follow this event, and local coverage made it difficult, but I hung in there. Good thing, because I got to see Randi Miller shoot her way to bronze in the freestyle wrestling event. Shooting is a term in wrestling meaning to plow an opponents legs. Not everyone likes her aggressive means.

Miller is a 2001 graduate of Arlington Martin, and is used to the kind of criticism received from her Canadian opponent, Martine Dugrenier. "It was a hard style," she said.  "Just pushing for me is not really wrestling."

Begs the question: when are women going to be allowed to compete in the Greco-Roman event?  Is Dugrenier's comment deserved in the sense that Miller's style has evolved past that of the freestyle competition?
