Tennis: Rafa and Fed Share Injury Woes, Withdraw from Paris Masters

Nadal_paris_3In one of the strangest turn of events in recent memory, both Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer withdrew from the Paris Masters today with injury.

Rafa, who lost the first set 1-6 in his match against Nikolay Davydenko, called it quits after getting treatment on his injured right thigh and losing the set. He complained of a knee injury during his post-match presser:

I had some pain in the knee yesterday. I felt the pain a lot when I woke up this morning. When I push (on my right knee) I feel a sharp pain.

College Football: PLAYOFF vs. BCS BOWLS

Now that the election is coming to an end the next great debate will be discussed again at length during the final month of college football. Should college football convert to a playoff system to determine a true national champion or should the current Bowl Championship Series (BCS) contract be renewed when it expires in the year 2013.

Let us know what your thoughts are by leaving a comment on whether you would prefer a playoff system or continue with the BCS contract.

Nothing can be changed for the next couple of years. If you're still confused how the BCS selection process works, Global Sports Fraternity features this video clip that may shed some light on it.

Baseball: Phillies Fans Release 28 Years of Frustration on Unsuspecting Honda

Boy oh boy. The Phillies fans sure seemed excited after their team won the World Series over the Rays last night.

Is this what happens when 28 years of frustration finally gets released? Geez, they should try coming out of the closet after that much time. Actually, it did kinda look like this if I recall:

Yodhi gets to bring this drag schtick on the road with a trip to next week's WTA Championships in Doha.

PS - love the reverse, open-stance forehand towards the end. Nice touch like the wig...or is it???

Wishbone #1: A Rocky Start

Wishbone_3 Follow Casey Thompson, star quarterback for the Los Angeles Condors, as he struggles to come out of the closet and win - both on and off the field of play.

Sunday, September 7, 2008, Los Angeles, California

Coach Commons, James Myers here, Los Angeles Star-Times. I wonder if you could speak about the performance of your quarterback, Casey Thompson, today? It seems his struggles in the pre-season – as well as his poor performance at the end of last season – have kind of carried over to today’s game. Do you plan on starting him next week against Denver? Is Casey going to remain the Condors’ starter?”
