Arizona Woes ... and Hopes

Arizona_diamondbacks_v_los_angele_3The Arizona Diamondbacks lost out on the playoffs this year by a measly two games. They got beat out by a blue team with a black guy as the new face of the franchise. I am, of course, talking about Manny and the Dodgers. Oh yeah, and McCain lost, too.

Lucky for Arizona, they have the Cardinals. Wait! Did I just write that? "Luckily they have the Cardinals??" Holy Moses.

Jerheme_urban_and_bertrand_berry835The Cardinals are actually a pretty damn nice team this year. With only three losses, and five wins as I write this, they're actually looking like a playoff team. I remember before the season hearing a guy on ESPN say that the Cards were his surprise pick. Looks like there might be some truth to that.

Cardinal Wins:
23-13 over a crappy San Fran team
31-10 over a surprisingly good Miami team
41-17 over a good Buffalo team
30-24 over a Dallas team when Romo had a healthy pinkie-winkie
34-13 over a very crappy St. Louis team

Cardinal Losses:
17-24 by a very good Washington team
56-35 by Brett Favre
27-23 in a squeaker by a great Carolina team

They'll have trouble in upcoming games against the Giants, the Eagles and the Vikings, but otherwise, there's no reason these upstarts can't win 5 more games. Good luck Cards. Don't make it a trifecta of losses for your beautiful state.

Oh, McCain lost. I'm just sayin'.
