John Rocker Back To His Anti-Gay Ways
It seems former Atlanta Brave John Rocker is still up to his anti-gay, anti-Jewish ways. Thanks to QueerUnity for the tip!
John Rocker, the former relief pitcher for the Atlanta Braves, is back in the spotlight again after making anti-gay and anti-Semitic comments on Steak Shapiro's Atlanta radio show. Apparently Rocker kept referring to Shapiro as a jew throughout his broadcast. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution picked up that part of the story but left out a few choice tidbits. In an interview with SOVO, Shapiro said Rocker also liberally used the word faggot throughout the conversation.
“It [faggot] is one of his favorite terms and he used it multiple times,” Shapiro told SoVo. “His exact words at least three times [were], ‘You Jew faggot.’ He is a pathetic guy.”
You may remember Rocker for some of his other choice comments. Rocker, contemplating a move to New York, upset a number of minorities in a 1999 Sports Illustrated interview.
“Imagine having to take the No. 7 train to the ballpark, looking like you’re [riding] through Beirut, next to some kid with purple hair, next to some queer with AIDS, right next to some dude who just got out of jail for the fourth time, right next to some 20-year-old mom with four kids”.

Both this pathetico and the firefighter whose facebook comments referred to our new President as a 'nigger' need to be watched as potential terrorists/criminals, for they are truly dangerous. Let these two and others like them know how it is to be watched for what they are, someone not to be trusted. Give them a taste of what it is like to be hounded, in their cases with justification.

Upon sight of the picture, I just assumed he was gay. Roided and see through shirt?? Come on, this guy screams homo. So, it didn't surprise me all that much when I read that this guy likes to openly talk about his dislike of gays. I would bet my money that he's had sex with a guy before or at the very least thought about it. He's full of crap.

I don't know ANYONE that would date that guy. I'm gay and everyone I know wouldn't dare be bothered by the likes of someone like this. I do however know plenty of people that would wear that shirt, and, to be honest, they are all gay. I sure that is just a coincidence.

Looking at Rocker's pic, one can only assume that the steroids he has obviously abused have affected his mind--not just his body...

As in all these cases, separate "public usefulness" and "personal deficiency." Did he play good baseball? Then he was valuable. Period. As in, so what if a politician played around, was s/he a good leader? No one person is perfect in all aspects; utilize their good for social focus, let the rest go.

This is a classic case of REACTION-FORMATION: The blocking of desire by its opposite.
