Billy Gillispie Gets C-A-N-N-E-D Canned Canned Canned

Billy_Gillispie_84560252 Twenty-two wins just doesn't cut it when you're working for the Big Blue machine. Billy Gillispie found that one out the hard way today when he was fired as the University of Kentucky men's basketball coach.

The Wildcats didn't make the NCAA tourney for the first time since 1991 and were beaten in the NIT quarterfinals by a scrappy Notre Dame team. When you're one of the most storied programs in the history of college basketball and have only lost 14 or more games twice (now three times) in 106 years, the NIT simply isn't going to cut it.

Maybe UK will hire Bobby Knight to coach them. That would be great. Then I'd have even more reason to hate them.

Who is it that Kentucky thinks they are going to get to coach in that pressure cooker? Serious.....I am not sure who would want that position.
