Lane Kiffin: Beware Gators Bearing Grudges

I’ve never been a big SEC fan.  I’m a Big Ten guy.  So, I have never really paid a lot of attention to the subplots and subtexts of coaches and players and programs down in the SEC.  But I have to admit, I will be tuning in to watch the Florida Gators beat the living $!@^&%# out of the Tennessee Volunteers this coming fall.

This whole thing started when 1st year coach Lane Kiffin – recently fired by aging lunatic Al Davis as head coach of the Oakland Raiders – accused Florida head coach Urban Meyers of violating recruiting rules while Kiffin was speaking to a group of Tennessee alums, and it was caught on film.

Oops.  It turns out the “rules” Kiffin was referring to are not “rules” – not for the NCAA and not for the SEC.   Even the SEC President had to come out and slam Kiffin for that one.  

Kiffin continued his foot-in-mouth tour later this winter when he supposedly told a recruit not to play for another SEC team (South Carolina), as that would lead to the player winding up with a “career pumping gas”.   Kiffin denies this one.  Don’t bother, Lane.  Your credibility on other SEC campuses is less than zero.

The damage is done, especially with the Gators.  Gator players have posted Kiffin’s pictures and quotes all over the locker room, and are literally drooling as they await this fall’s UF-UT game.  A first year, young head coach ought to know better than to poke sleeping Gators with a stick.  Especially when the Gators are a far, far, FAR superior team than the Vols.   Has Kiffin ever heard of Tim Tebow?  Well, Tebow has now heard of Lane Kiffin.

And, I assume he is drooling like the rest of his teammates as he awaits this fall’s smack down.  And so am I.   It’s gonna be ugly!

Love the article! Lane Kiffin is a rambling man. He is easy on the eyes, but just can't seem to keep his mouth shut. More often than not his target is the University of Florida. His wife is a UF alum. She is hot. Maybe she got de-flowered by a Gator football stud. Can't wait for the September beat down! GO GATORS! TEBOW_4_HE15MAN!
