Federer Feeling "More a Man Now" After Paris Triumph

Roger_Federer It seems winning the French Open has given Roger Federer bigger balls.

The Swiss maestro, who claimed the Career Slam by winning his 14th major at Roland Garros this month, told to a small group of reporters gathered in London ahead of Wimbledon that he now believes he can win any title even when his ethereal game isn't clicking on all cylinders:

I feel like I've definitely become more a man now than in the last few years since I'm not scared of five setters anymore. I can handle the pressure. I had to show my fighting spirit more than ever and it's nice to have had a chance to show those qualities because before everybody was just used to my dominance. It's good to know for myself that I can also do it differently.

Now going into the grass season, and Wimbledon, and being on top of the world it's a fantastic feeling.

The former top-ranked baller had to contest two 5-setters during his championship run in Paris, a first for him at a major.

Even after last year's defeat at the hands of Rafael Nadal in a classic Wimby final, Fed was clear on who he believes the fave is for this year's crown:

I do think I'm the favorite actually, with the success I've had. I came close again last year.

I agree he's the favorite after his win in Paris, his record at The All England Club including 5 titles, and with Rafa's recent knee issues. But the bigger balls? I'd like to do a personal investigation. You know, just to make sure.

The Championships at Wimbledon begin on Monday, June 22.
