Federer Becomes a Dad, Welcomes Twin Girls
He got a first French Open title and with it a Career Slam, a record-breaking 15 majors, and the top ranking back in what has turned out to be another stellar season for Roger Federer. But nothing could compare to his latest triumph: the birth of twin girls.
The Swiss maestro and wife Mirka welcomed newborn daughters Myla Rose and Charlene Riva yesterday and made the initial announcement via Facebook:
I have some exciting news to share with you: Late last night, in Switzerland, Mirka and I became proud parents of twin girls! We named them Myla Rose and Charlene Riva and they are both healthy and along with their mother, they are doing great. This is the best day of our lives!
Congrats to both Fed + Mirka. And, I'm SO glad they didn't do the celebrity thing and name the babies some God-awful name, though I did have my heart set on "Mango".
I'm not gonna lie.
