Oh Andy, Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda!
While the rest of the world has been glued to their televisions catching the endless Michael Jackson updates, Andy Roddick has something else on his mind. It is haunting him, and it is not going to go away for a long time.
He has been replaying his Men's Singles Wimbledon Final match in his mind repeatedly, and the second set tie-breaker will eat at him forever. How could it not? If only he woulda, coulda, shoulda have won just ONE more tie-breaker point being up 6-2, he would have been up two sets to none against the incredible Roger Federer and in cruise control towards his first Wimbledon championship.
It was an amazing match, highest rated TV broadcast of Wimbledon in a decade. Neither player deserved to lose, and both left everything they had on the court. But when you have four golden opportunities to close out a set, it must be done.
I feel for your Andy, I wanted it for you, and I hope mentally you can get past this and continue to bring tennis back to life in the USA.
