Tiger Has All Answers With 4th Memorial Win

Tiger Woods; Jack Nicklaus No one ever doubted Tiger Woods' heart or his head, although there were some lingering whispers about his rebuilt knee.

Now even those have evaporated.

Adding to his lore with birdies on three of the last four holes — not to mention a highlight-reel chip-in for eagle a few holes earlier — Woods climbed out of a four-way tie with a 7-under 65 to win the Memorial Tournament on Sunday. It was a record fourth time he had won the event created by his idol and measuring stick, Jack Nicklaus.

John Daly is Hawt

John Daly Italian OpenSomebody's making a statement! Holy clown colors, Batman. John Daly's choice of attire on the golf course might be bringing in the sponsorship dollars, but daymn! Who cut up my grandmother's couch? She was a sweet old bird, but that couch...

I really don't know what to make of these hot duds. But if you're looking for some, head on over to LoudMouth Golf. They can hook ya up for sure. And if you're on the circuit, I betcha they'll pay you to wear some of their sweet get-you-noticed gear for the links. They sure as hell are paying Daly. I hope it's a lot.

Golf: Woods to Make Return Next Week in Arizona

Tiger WoodsTiger Woods confirmed he'll be returning to competition at next week's WGC-Match Play Championship in Arizona saying on his website "I'm now ready to play again."

The world's top golfer hasn't played since undergoing orthroscopic knee surgery after winning his 14th major at Torrey Pines last year. Woods was suffering from stabbing knee pains and a double stress fracture in his tibia during his inspiring overtime win over Rocco Mediate.

Annika_sorenstam_84018083 With the close of the 2008 LPGA season, golf is losing one of it’s greatest competitors of all times.  Annika Sorenstam is retiring.

Annika ranks 1st all time among tournament victories with 90.  She ranks 1st all time in career earnings, at over $22 million.  She was the LPGA Player of the Year Eight Times; 6 years the winner of the annual lowest score average on the tour; and inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2003.

Golf: What's Tiger up to? You won't believe it!

Tiger_woods_79376616(Getty Images)
Ok. Tiger got hurt a while back. He has some knee issues... but who doesn't?

He's been off the tour for the past couple of months, and he's not playing for the US in the Ryder Cup. That's bad, right? Maybe. On the plus side, team USA will have to mentally up their game because they don't have Tiger to fall back on. I digress.

So what has the poor guy been doing with his time off? You're not going to believe this place. Tiger Woods Dubai!

Holy Mother Of God. And I don't even like golf.

Spectator sport: Camilo Villegas, the new sex symbol of the PGA

From the gifted to the gorgeous, Spectator sport showcases gay and straight athletes at the top of their game.

If you didn't catch the BMW Championship televised over the weekend, let me tell you what you missed.  Camilo Villegas, a golfer with an incredibly ripped body, impeccable fashion sense and unbelievably bendy body took the title and $1.26 million in prize money!

But it didn't come easily.  Villegas, 26, didn't let a set back or two discourage him.  After 4-putting on one hole, Villegas kept his composure and focus, and came back with back-to-back birdies.

"The four-putt wasn't the turning point," he said. "It was the birdie-birdie I came back with [at the next two holes]. I had been putting so good all week and then I four-putt. It rattled me in a good way.

"I just kept my head up, came back with birdie, birdie, and all of a sudden that four-putt was out of my head."

Golf: The Ryder Cup

Paul_azinger_80949057 (Getty Images)
I listen to XM radio and have lately been inundated with Ryder Cup commercials. They’re annoying, but mildly compelling. So I went online and looked it up.

Turns out it’s a pretty cute way to make golf interesting to watch. The only time I’ve ever watched golf was when some guy at work started a pool where you drew names and if your player won, you took home $100. That got me watching.

New LPGA rule requires all golfers to be able to speak English

Se_ri_pak_82394360 (Getty Images)
The LPGA governing body has for a number of years been gently suggesting their golfers learn English, I suppose so they can speak more effectively to the press.  That suggestion has now been made a requirement.

During the Safeway Classic, tour leaders met with South Korean players and told them starting in 2009 any golfer who has been on the tour for at least 2 years would be required to pass an oral English test.  Those unable to pass could face suspension.
