Gay Soccer: San Francisco Spikes

Ryo's Bicycle Kick When we think of hot soccer players, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo immediately come to mind.  But when we think of hot GAY soccer players, our thoughts quickly went to the San Francisco Spikes.  After viewing just a few of these images from Blake Tucker, can you say we're wrong.

Worst Sports Towns: San Diego Gunning For Seattle

Seattle_skyline_781936 Seattle is clearly the worst sports town in America right now, after all they've gone through. The events of the last twelve months have made America's Finest City a laughing stock. However, with the offical demise of the Chargers, San Diego can set its sights on overtaking The Emerald City for the dubious honor.

San Francisco Rainbow Koi Dragon Boat Team

Freemont_race3 The San Francisco Rainbow Koi Dragon Boat Team is riding the waves as it colorfully “sashays” on the Bay Area waterways. Although considered a gay and lesbian team, San Francisco Rainbow Koi is a very inclusive team with gay, lesbian, and straight members of various ethnicities and ages.  We welcome anyone who wants to have fun while fostering team spirit and friendship. We are a unique group. No other crew warms up to the beat of Latin salsa music and no other team breaks out in songs in the middle of paddling; we are as colorful as our name implies!

My first introduction to the Queer Utah Aquatic Club, QUAC for short, was when someone sent me a few of the photos from their fund-raising calendars.  Artfully photographed and processed, these images showcase the beauty of these exceptional athletes.

Members of QUAC will be competing in this year's  2008 International Gay and Lesbian Aquatics Championships (IGLA) and are poised to take home a number of medals in all of the competitions.

More photos and information about QUAC after the jump.

Tell us about your LGBT sports team!

Rainbow_stretch_77022883 (Getty Images)
We know gay men and women can be just as zealous about sports as anyone and we want to share in your passion.  Whether you're into swimming, football, tennis or even shuffle board, we want to hear about it.

So put on your Public Relations hat and really sell your LGBT sports club.  How you do it is up to you.  It can be as simple as a short write up or as creative as posting a video on YouTube and sending us the link.  The most important thing to do is show how much fun your group is.

Send an email with all your information, photos, video links and anything else to sports@planetoutinc.com.  Don't forget to include your group's website URL and contact information.
