I know it’s been over a week, but I can’t get the event that was the chasing of the cheese out of my head. For centuries, crazy Britons (and many others) have been hurling their very breakable bodies (is that Borat on the right?) down a 200m hill in Gloucestershire after a freaking wheel of cheese.

Famous Bra Among Sports Items Potentially up for Auction

It's never too early to start holiday shopping, and the bankruptcy courts in New York want to help you.

The Sports Museum of America, a for-profit organization in New York, recently declared Chapter 7 bankruptcy.  Among its items that have been taken into custody by the courts, according to the Wall Street Journal, are a Tony Hawk skateboard, a Mike Eruzione jersey from the Team USA 1980 hockey team, and - get this - the black sports bra Brandi Chastain exposed when she scored the game-winning goal in the 1999 Womens World Cup.

It’s called Sportacular, and it’s got everything you could need. By Citizen Sports, this little FREE app gives you up-to-the-minute stats and scores on everything from baseball to the LPGA.

Homoeroticism in Sports. No, Really?

I came across a nice op-ed piece in the University of Arizona’s student newspaper, the Wildcat, about homoeroticism in sports.  The author, Alexandria Kassman, makes the point, maybe not so strongly, but nevertheless makes the point, that sports are rife with homoerotic aspects.

ESPN To Remove Offensive Shaq Ad

Officials at the ESPN network have agreed to remove a commercial that many are calling offensive and homophobic. A recent promotional ad featuring Shaquille O'Neal and Mike Breen has Breen attempting to fist bump Shaq. However, Breen instead asks Shaw for a "fist kiss." Shaq responds "You're a weirdo man. Stay over there. Fist kiss. Disgusting. Shaq then proceeds to mock Breen for the idea of a "fist kiss."
