by Congress creates an accelerated depreciation timetable for
motor-track construction costs, reducing the timetable from 15 years to
7 years. This will cost the American taxpayer an estimated $100
million in lost tax revenues.

I'd love to meet the genius behind this marketing campaign.
According to the Guardian UK website Spain's Basketball Federation published this photo of the team with all of them pulling the sides of their eyes into slit-eyed gestures. Some argue the photo is innocent fun but many others are declaring it to be juvenile at best and worst outright racism.
You be the judge, do you think this photo is offensive or is it just being blow out of proportion?

UPDATE:
Since we first reported this story Sunday, June 1st, it has quickly become the topic of conversation on TV and radio stations around the country, as well as being picked up by numerous blogs.
On Tuesday, Sirbrina Guerrero (one of the lip-locking lesbians) said the Mariners director of guest services called and apologized for the incident. But the apology seems a little too late to stop this firestorm.
In the first of what I'm anticipating to be numerous calls-to-action, Dan Savage has called for a kiss-in to protest the Seattle Mariners. Just let me know when to be there!

Taking a look at the homophobic side of sports.
Luciano Moggi is no stranger to controversy, having been banned from football for his involvement in a match fixing scandal. Today, gays became his target in a very unusual television interview.
Reminiscent of the Iranian President's statement of no gays in Iran, Moggi claims the same for football [soccer].
"There are no gays in football, I don't know if players are against having them in their team but I definitely am," he said.
"In the teams where I worked there were never any. I never wanted to have a homosexual player and I still wouldn't sign one."

At New York Ranger's hockey games the testosterone really gets pumping, tensions are high and the occasional fight breaks out; and that's just in the stands.
Anyone who's ever been to a major league sporting event knows some times the crowds can get out of hand. But for many Ranger hockey fans the anti-gay remarks are not only uncalled for but are the reason they have stopped going to the games.
