Grandma Moses is back at it again.
12-time Olympic medalist and 41-year old Dara Torres has announced that she will swim at the Austin Grand Prix next weekend at the University of Texas. This will be the world champion's first meet since winning three silver medals at last summer's Beijing Games. If all goes well next weekend, Torres hopes to be able to swim at this summer's World Championships in Rome.

Two of Michael Phelps' leading sponsors expressed support for the Olympic great Monday, a day after he apologized for being photographed in a British newspaper inhaling from a marijuana pipe.
Luxury Swiss watchmaker Omega termed Phelps' actions a private matter and "nonissue." Swim wear manufacturer Speedo called the 23-year-old American a "valued member of the Speedo team."

Michael Phelps embarrassed himself after a triumphant Olympics, this time getting his picture snapped as he inhaled from a marijuana pipe. The photo wound up in a British tabloid Sunday, forcing Phelps to publicly apologize and his handlers to deal with sponsors who are surely none too pleased about the swimmer's choices away from the pool.

Australian swimming sensation Ian Thorpe has found himself on the defensive following renewed speculation that it's guys who float his boat.
Thorpe was caught frolicking in the Brazilian surf with long-time housemate and fellow swimmer Daniel Mendes. The two had flown to join Mendes' family for the holidays after first celebrating them with Thorpe's back home in Oz.
